Before You Die

“You’re getting old, you know. And you should have one more adventure before you die,” she said. “And find a woman and fall in love.” Before I die, I thought. I’m not even close. I think I’m in love with you, rattled around in my addled brain.

That was back in the summer of 2009, seventeen years ago. Good advice. Then as now.

However, little did I know how crazy the world would become. I wasn’t old then. Now? I am. She’s long gone. A “Gone girl”. “Where does love go when it’s gone?” Is a damn good question. “I think I was in love with her”. Moreover, probably the best adventure a man could have is being in love with a crazy, young, beautiful woman. Crazy Love.

Is love always crazy? I admit – “I’m still crazy, but I’m not over you.”

Notwithstanding, I hope you enjoy this video. I made it before YouTube channels became a thing. I don’t think I uploaded it to my channel. (Maybe I will, now,)

The End

Rhaine and I were having fun; but that was seventeen years ago. Now, it’s not so funny. The end can come suddenly, without warning. Two years ago, my brother Jack, (at my age) went in for a routine, non-invasive procedure and never came out. Alive. I had to fly to Kansas (I don’t fly) and make the decision to end his life.

Five days before he had commented on a post here. I had no idea that would be the last “conversation” we had. My point is: You never know when the last time of anything ___ fill in the black, you do will be the last.

That being the case, what should a person do?

In Conclusion

Like I said, I made this video 17 years ago. Before the world went crazy. How did that, (the, the, world becoming crazy) happen? Is it God working in mysterious ways? The Devil’s work? The final battle? The End Times?

Not dead yet

I don’t know. I do know I had several more adventures; and I’m not dead yet! However, I’m closer now. I can feel dying and death catching up to me. “Don’t look back.” Do I have one more adventure in me? Before I die.

Let me know in the comments. How are you doing? With regard to “before you die”; and the Last Time question, too.

PS

Elanor Rigby was preformed live by my second wife’s sister’s band. We divorced in 1977; and I’ve never been able to find any of them. I didn’t know it at the time.

Best viewed on a computer with head phones. 🙂

  1. Holy smokes! I was able to “throw” the video to my smart TV, from my phone, and watch it on the big screen! Which I recommend. The movie was made on old technology. The stuff now is beyond me. Nevertheless, there are ways to make it work together.
