Have We Made this Mess? The Vortex

Here I am again, now, looking back. This book, The Vortex, * was published in 2009; and I was really struck by it. So much so that I made this video. Subsequently, I’ve written two books that use its premise as foundational. However, I forgot. Because I’m old? Or just don’t want to believe that it might be true. That I, and collectively we have created this mess. Because of The Vortex!

The subtitle of the book is: Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships.

In a previous post I’d mentioned that voodoo-like happenings regarding myself and others have occurred. Furthermore, the through-line existed before this book was published. Or more accurately, the events mentioned connect the past to the present in a manner which excludes any confirmation bias.

However, it is scary to think it might be true. Just as it’s scary to think that Christianity might be true.

The Present

times are so troubling. And because of technology it’s nearly impossible to not experience this. To listen, read, and watch people today is to come away with knowing that people are entrenched in conflict – with no way out.

The current in vogue word is “vibes”; to describe what is going on regarding what happens. However, it’s not a new word. Nor a new concept. In the book, the authors attribute that which happens to vibrations. That the world is powered by vibrations. Additionally, that we have a role in that. We play a part, Indeed, they posit that the Law of Attraction is “the law that creates worlds.”

The Conflict

is thus something that we are creating. Because we want/desire it! Of course that could be an unconscious desire. Of which the “world” – the vibrational world – doesn’t care about. It is our dominant desires that create the world. Moreover, those desires might be only accessible in dreams. Is my thinking. And Freud’s.

If you watch the video, which I hope you do, pay attention. Seventeen years ago the author predicted where we are today – a species more invested in complaining online than in changing.

In Conclusion

I am now truly old; and unhappy. Things haven’t worked out well for me. Is that my fault/doing? This mess of my life? Is it of my own doing?

PS

Think of sport competition. The World Cup. Soccer! are you kidding me?

In sport we mimic IRL competition. Nobody dies. And yet fortunes are made (and mostly lost) on the outcomes of the games. Give me a break!

Why don’t we just play a game (hockey?)  to decide if we bomb Iran into the Stone Age, or if the woman I love loves me back? (Tarot cards, etc.) Moreover if when I die? I live forever in happiness and bliss, or burn in hell?

Seriously. Errg. I have no people.

  1. Don’t count yourself short, Mark! I’m sure you can find many things in your life to be happy and grateful about. You are accomplished at many things and are a wise man far beyond your years. And I will tell you this, you have a very unique way of getting people to think differently than they are accustomed to. That in and of itself should be a reason to be grateful and happy! That’s a very rare trait.

    1. Thanks, Rich. And for your review of my book, too. “you have a very unique way of getting people to think differently than they are accustomed to.” Yes; but most people don’t like that. It’s gotten me into a bit of trouble, mostly. You, also have rare talents – one of which is to be openminded and forthright. Cheers, my friend. Thank you.
